Airport Transfer
Washington is served by three airports, and the transfer into the city is a different job at each. IAD Airport Limo is Dulles-first: our chauffeurs meet international arrivals at the customs exit, ride out the AeroTrain delay with flight tracking and run the Toll Road and I-66 into the District every day. We cover Reagan National and BWI with the same written flat rate and the same standard.

This page is for travelers landing at any of the three and staying downtown, on Capitol Hill, in Georgetown, around Dupont Circle and the embassy districts on Massachusetts Avenue, or at the convention hotels near Mount Vernon Square. If you have not chosen an airport yet, the comparison below is the short version of our Dulles versus Reagan guide.
Dulles is 26 miles west of downtown, 40 to 60 minutes by the Dulles Toll Road and I-66 or Route 50, and it is where international, transcontinental and most United itineraries land. Arrivals come through the mid-field concourses by AeroTrain to the main terminal, then down to baggage claim. International passengers clear customs first. Our chauffeur waits at the carousel or outside the customs doors with a name sign, and the vehicle is positioned a short walk away.
Our IAD to Washington DC route page has the drop-off detail by neighborhood. For the full arrival process, including Global Entry and the 60-minute international wait, see our Dulles airport car service page.
Reagan National is four miles from downtown across the 14th Street Bridge, 10 to 20 minutes on a normal day, and the natural choice for East Coast domestic flights under the perimeter rule. The curb is tight and the pickup is fast when the chauffeur is staged correctly. BWI is 32 miles northeast, 45 to 70 minutes down the BW Parkway, and it is where Southwest and many low-fare routes land. Our BWI to Washington DC page covers that run.
Split itineraries are routine: land at Dulles, depart from Reagan, or the reverse. The IAD to DCA transfer is about 30 miles and 45 minutes outside rush hour, at a flat rate. Call (877) 609-1919 with both flight numbers and dispatch tracks each.
Downtown drop-offs have rules. Embassy Row addresses on Massachusetts Avenue have limited curb space and security staff who expect a specific vehicle. Hotels around Lafayette Square and the White House perimeter close streets without notice. Capitol Hill offices require a chauffeur who knows which side of the building to approach. Our drivers run these addresses weekly and confirm the drop point with you before the pickup.
For DC visitors continuing to Maryland, our IAD to Bethesda and IAD to National Harbor routes cover the northern and southern suburbs, and our general airport transfer page describes the service at all three airports.
