A Guide to the Best Events in Maryland 2026 and How to Get There in Style

For Northern Virginia residents, Maryland is where the big events are and the bridges are the price of admission. Every trip on this calendar crosses the American Legion Bridge on the Beltway or the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on the south side, and both are unforgiving on an event evening. This is the 2026 calendar as our Dulles-corridor clients actually use it, organized by season, with a note on how to arrive.

Spring

The Preakness Stakes runs in May, and in 2026 it was held at Laurel Park while Pimlico is rebuilt, returning to Baltimore in 2027. Laurel is a straight shot up the BW Parkway from the Wilson Bridge side, and our Preakness transportation page covers the drop-off procedure. Late May brings Commissioning Week at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, and April opens the Orioles season at Camden Yards.

Summer

Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia stacks its concert season from June through September, and a chauffeur removes the two-hour lot exit. Artscape fills downtown Baltimore for a summer weekend. Ocean City hosts its Air Show in June, and the Eastern Shore run is a three-hour Sprinter job from Fairfax that people regret driving themselves.

Fall

Fall is the crowded season. The Maryland State Fair in Timonium spans late August into early September. The Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville runs weekends from late August through October. The Annapolis Sailboat and Powerboat Shows in October fill every downtown garage, which is why our Annapolis Boat Show transportation service drops at the gate. Ravens home games at M&T Bank Stadium and Navy football at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium round out the Saturdays and Sundays, and the Baltimore Running Festival closes streets in October.

Winter

Christmas Village at the Inner Harbor runs November into December, and the Miracle on 34th Street lights in Hampden are a December tradition. National Harbor is the closest Maryland destination for the Virginia side, minutes over the Wilson Bridge, with MGM National Harbor shows, the Gaylord ice display and the IAD to National Harbor route for guests landing at Dulles.

Getting There From the Virginia Side

Two habits make Maryland events painless from Northern Virginia.

Let the Chauffeur Pick the Bridge

Baltimore, Laurel and Columbia usually favor the American Legion Bridge and I-95; Annapolis and National Harbor favor the Wilson Bridge and Route 50 or Route 210. Dispatch watches both and chooses at pickup time, and the flat rate is the same either way.

Move the Group in One Sprinter

A Mercedes Sprinter carries 14 with tailgate gear in the back. One vehicle, one drop-off, one pickup point after the show, and no one in the group drives home from a concert or a race day. Book it for the National Harbor run or a Camden Yards game and split the flat rate.

Reserve the Date

Book online at our booking page or call (877) 609-1919. Event bookings cancel free up to 12 hours before pickup, and the rate is fixed when you reserve.
